Formats and mechanics coverage

Primary format

PokeMCP Prep currently defaults to Pokémon Champions Regulation M-B (champions-regmb). Tournament teams come from completed public Limitless events with published lists.

Supported foundations include the current regulation allow-list, level and team-size rules, item and species clauses, published usage mapping, Omni Ring Mega rules, and standard typing.

Mechanics beta

Champions differs from Showdown-era VGC in ways that are still being documented. Exact VP-aware stat and speed calculations, the complete Champions move overlay, and some new interactions remain beta. The Match Desk labels recommendations affected by these gaps rather than presenting them as exact.

Legacy builder formats

The secondary team builder still contains older Showdown singles and doubles formats for existing local teams and shared links. They are not the focus of the tournament-prep newsroom.
